Wealthy Affiliate University was created on September 10, 2005. I joined WAU on May 29, 2008 so the site was less than three (3) years old when I joined. My annual tuition has not changed with time because your tuition rate is always grandfathered from the date you joined. I am not going to tell you what the site was like when I joined but what it is like now after years of evolution by Kyle and Carson who own the site.
There are three (3) Tuition levels.
With the Beginners Membership you get two FREE Websites and FREE hosting and it doesn’t require you to pay for a domain name.
Premium Membership: Monthly Tuition $47.00. Although this is much lower than any course at your community college, it can be a large sum to folks short on cash or a youngster in high school. But you can always start for free, earn your tuition and then become a Premium Member.
Annual Premium Membership: I think it is currently at $350.00 so you save $214.00 each and every year. If you are a member for 10 years then you will save $2140.00 over that time period. For this reason, I have always paid annually and I advise everyone to do the same. Maybe you have to put it on a credit card or save for it, but I advise that you do it.
As soon as you become a member at any level, create a user name and write your biography by just saying who you are, where you have been, and what your dreams are. This is very important. People will know you by your user name and they will follow you and you can follow them.
Now look to the right of your dashboard and find CHAT. Go there and say, “Hi! I’m new here.” Members will great you and they will probably tell you how to get started. If Kyle or Carson is on Chat, you will certainly be guided by them. Now, use chat all the time. I do. Why? I have questions and the older or more knowledgeable members on Chat give me answers to my questions. I answer questions myself unless Kyle or Carson or Jay is there. They give better answers than I do. The owners are often on Chat. You are never alone at WAU. I guess we could make that a motto.
