Folks think that all they have to do is put up a website and they will start making money on the Internet. But nobody goes to the site or if they do, they don’t buy anything. They’ve got the cart before the horse.
The problem is this: They are not solving anybody’s problem. In fact, they may be the problem, giving out worthless information that nobody wants or needs.
You must first find a niche market and supply a needful solution to somebody’s problem. That means that research must be done. I suggest JAAXY as your keyword tool because it gives accurate information and is geared to affiliate marketers. Read Kyle’s article on How to Find a Profitable Niche.
If you don’t have a solution to a problem, perhaps Amazon or ClickBank does. Then you can present this solution to a reader. But you must be targeting that very reader. Just putting up a site without researching the title and content and using the wrong keywords can be the end of sales from the start.
I know this sounds discouraging. But it is the truth. I have plenty of sites that are just wall paper. You have to keep testing and learning.
